Remembering a true Friend, Relative, Ally, and Advocate, Tim Connors
10/23/2026
We are very sad to report that one of our good friends, relatives, and allies, retired Judge Tim Connors of Ann Arbor Michigan, journeyed to the spirit world on October 8, 2026. His official obituary is at the link HERE.
Tim has provided great and unwavering support and advocacy for the Indigenous Peacemaking Initiative since before he joined our circle of Advisors in 2017, and his advocacy has also been strong for NARF in general. His impact was too great to attempt to summarize, he was one of our friends and leaders. He consistently lived in a way to maximize his leveraging of privileges he earned or otherwise received to make room for others, most importantly to us Native voices, in places where they would otherwise have been ignored or overlooked. Countless times, IPI benefitted from his helping us “crash the party.”
Perhaps even more, he was a good friend, and he and his beloved wife Margaret have hosted many IPI-related individuals for countless hours in the privacy of their own homes, vacation locations, class rooms, and dinner tables. The conversation, singing, and laughter will live on in the rest of our hearts for as long as we continue to walk this earth, until we join him and laugh and sing together again.
Until then we will remember our Brother, Uncle, Friend, and True Ally ever so fondly and with appreciation.
