EVENT: MIDWEST PEACEMAKING TRAINING AGENDA RELEASED

The title of this year’s workshop is “ICWA as the Gold Standard for All Children – Reunification in Courts and Schools, Peacemaking as a Path to Get There.” This year’s training will feature a State ICWA training and an example of School Peacemaking Programs. The sign at the new Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Tribal Court in Dowagiac, MI brings the prominence of peacemaking to all who pass by. Construction for the Peacemaking Center started in 2018 and took over 15 months to complete. EVENT: SAVE THE DATE! INTERNATIONAL PEACEMAKING CONFERENCE 2020

Anyone interested in peacemaking should be planning to go to the International Peacemaking Conference, to be held on August 5-7, 2020 at the home of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians in Manistee, Michigan, USA. A full range of topics will be available for this large, multi-track conference, with peacemakers from around North America. A steering committee for the agenda is almost completely formed already.

The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians recently opened its new justice center, which features a circular design theme, a round peacemaking room, and a healing fire.
